Brightspeed has received $1.5 million to enhance its fiber network in Trumbull County, Ohio, connecting nearly 2,400 locations. The funding is part of a broader investment, totaling over $5.5 million, with Brightspeed contributing more than $4 million. The announcement follows Brightspeed's previous allocation of $12.3 million aimed at connecting almost 5,900 additional homes and businesses across several counties in Ohio. Additionally, the company is upgrading its service tiers, now offering broadband speeds up to 2 Gbps that address the demands of both families and businesses.
The Eastgate Regional Council of Governments issued a request for proposals from service providers to deploy, operate, and maintain a broadband network to currently unserved and underserved addresses within Trumbull County.
The $1.5M awarded to Brightspeed will go toward the total project cost of more than $5.5M, with Brightspeed's investment exceeding $4M.
In addition to the recent funding, Brightspeed has previously received $12.3 million to connect almost 5,900 homes and businesses across multiple Ohio counties.
Brightspeed's revamped service tiers now deliver data at 200 Mbps, 500 Mbps, 1 Gbps, and 2 Gbps, catering to various customer needs.
