Introduced on January 1, 2015, the Dutch Startup Visa aims to facilitate non-European startup founders in launching their businesses in the Netherlands. Finn Hansen was the first recipient, highlighting the initiative's goal of streamlining the bureaucratic process previously required for the Self-Employed Visa. Since its launch, around 1,300 founders have received this visa, with a notable success rate as 40 percent continue to operate their ventures. This visa has positioned the Netherlands as an attractive hub for innovation, reflecting the country’s commitment to welcoming global talent in the entrepreneurial space.
With the introduction of the Dutch Startup Visa on January 1st, 2015, Holland now appears a much more attractive option for non-European entrepreneurs to set up shop.
The Dutch Startup Visa has been awarded to around 1,300 founders from outside the EU, EEA or Switzerland, with 40 percent of them still in business today.
