Rain warning issued for six counties as Met Eireann warns of spot flooding
"The warning will be valid from midday to 6pm Thursday in counties Carlow, Dublin, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wicklow and Waterford. Following the heavy rain on Thursday, recent dry and sunny spells will return for the weekend before conditions become "mostly unsettled" next week."
"Thursday has started wet across most of the country with minimal sunny spells with a cool day in store between 3C and 8C. Temperatures tonight will drop to below freezing - as low as -2C - and will remain dry."
"The national forecaster's long-range forecast for next week indicates "warmer than average" temperatures, though frequent rain will return in the meantime with "mostly unsettled" weather anticipated. Beyond Monday, Met Éireann predicts conditions to be "mostly unsettled with spells of rain and showers"."
A yellow weather warning for heavy rain applies Thursday from midday to 6pm in Carlow, Dublin, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wicklow, and Waterford. Thursday begins wet and cool with temperatures between 3C and 8C. Tonight temperatures drop below freezing to -2C with dry conditions. Friday will be dry and sunny with icy patches and afternoon temperatures of 8C to 11C. Saturday remains mostly dry with some rain in the south and east, temperatures 8C to 12C. Sunday brings mixed cloud and clear spells with temperatures rising to 9C to 13C. Monday becomes mostly cloudy with rain developing, warming to 10C to 13C. From Tuesday onward, conditions turn mostly unsettled with frequent rain and showers expected, alongside warmer than average temperatures.
