Deaths from monsoon floods and landslides in Nepal rose to 126 on Sunday, with dozens of people still missing, as authorities expect the toll to climb further.
Torrential rains began late on Thursday and have since battered much of the country, particularly the eastern and central regions, leading to significant devastation.
Whole neighborhoods in Kathmandu were inundated, with the rainfall being described as the worst the city has witnessed in decades, severely impacting infrastructure.
The government has shut schools and colleges across Nepal for three days in response to the emergency, while rescue operations continue to find missing persons.
