Media reports in Latvia claimed VDD opened a criminal investigation into Zdanoka on suspicion of espionage after reports of communication with Kremlin handlers.
Among other accusations, Zdanoka is alleged to echo Russian propaganda about rights violations against ethnic Russians in the Baltics, a narrative the Kremlin supports.
