The European Commission has identified 42 occupational shortages across sectors such as construction, transport, and health, prompting renewed efforts from the EU to address this skilled labor deficit. Roxana Mînzatu noted that four out of five businesses are unable to find adequately skilled workers. Contributing factors to this shortage include a demographic decline, with an estimated loss of 1 million workers per year until 2050, and the rapid evolution of job requirements driven by technology and ecological changes. Experts stress the inadequacy of current education systems to equip workers for future demands.
