6 Dead in Japan After Record Rainfall Causes Flooding
Briefly

Six people have died after torrential rain caused flooding and landslides in western Japan, particularly impacting Wajima and Suzu cities already recovering from a severe earthquake.
In Wajima City, 10.7 inches of rain fell in just six hours, almost doubling the previous record, leading to significant loss of life and destruction.
Evacuations were ordered for over 100,000 residents in western and southern Japan as some of the most severe emergency warnings for heavy rain were issued.
The disaster comes as the Noto Peninsula still grapples with the aftermath of a devastating 7.6-magnitude earthquake earlier this year, leaving significant challenges.
