Two young seal pups, Skittles and Hopscotch, have been released into the sea after rehabilitation in southeast England. They were found along the Sussex coastline underweight and suffering from injuries and parasites. The RSPCA indicated that the pups would not have survived without intervention. Following eight weeks of care, which included being hand-fed fish soup, they regained strength and were strong enough for their return to the wild. In a separate event, the Australian Wildlife Conservancy released 147 brush-tailed bettongs into its sanctuary at Mount Gibson, Perth, boosting local biodiversity.
