West Ham's Jessica Ziu has tragically sustained her second ACL injury in less than two years, suffering another setback during a behind-closed-doors pre-season match. This is her second serious knee injury since she only recently returned from her previous ACL surgery, which sidelined her for over a year and prevented her from competing in the 2023 World Cup with Ireland.
Despite making a return to the pitch last November, after recovering from her initial injury, Ziu's progress was abruptly halted again. She managed to play four Women's Super League matches last season but now faces another extensive rehabilitation period. Following surgery, she will begin her recovery process at the Chadwell Heath training ground, aiming to make a comeback in the future.
