Some prestigious clubs like Manchester United, Newcastle United, and Chelsea have fallen short of Champions League qualification. Tottenham is also expected to miss out due to the new Champions League format.
From next season, the Champions League will have 36 teams in a single league table without a traditional group stage. The top 8 will advance directly, placing 9th to 24th in play-offs, while the bottom teams leave with no Europa League drop.
