"Every game for us is huge. Everything has to be right to get results in the Premier League, and so will be the next one as well," said Van Nistelrooy.
"We could improve the structure in which we want to play with the ball. We had two positive results, but this one wasn't the best of afternoons for us," he said.
"Against top teams in the league, we help them on their way with a couple of set-pieces in their favour. I think it's development of the team as well," he noted.
"Prior to his sacking, O'Neil had said that it was proving 'unbelievably difficult' for the team to cope at the level they were at. It is proving really difficult for us as a group to find a way to be competitive."
