Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United, and Tottenham have lodged legal notices to claim compensation if Manchester City is found to have breached financial rules, reflecting their urgent concern over the statute of limitations.
The six-year statute of limitations could date back to November 2018 when allegations first surfaced, prompting the Premier League's extensive investigation into Manchester City.
Despite being charged with 115 breaches of financial rules, Manchester City has adamantly denied any wrongdoing and asserts it possesses a "comprehensive body of irrefutable evidence".
The independent commission hearing regarding the charges began on September 16 and is expected to last around 10 weeks, with no decision anticipated until the New Year.
