Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou expressed hope for Mauricio Pochettino's potential return to the club, addressing the Argentine's recent remarks about reuniting in the future. Postecoglou, appointed in June 2023, stated he didn't feel disrespected by Pochettino's comments, which some perceived as putting pressure on him amid Tottenham's struggle in the Premier League. Pochettino, who previously led Spurs to notable successes, currently manages the United States national team but faces challenges early in his tenure. Postecoglou is committed to Spurs until 2027 but is aware of the team's precarious league standing.
"If he wants to come back one day then I hope it happens for him," Postecoglou said when asked about Pochettino's comments. "We all have dreams and aspirations."
"I don't feel disrespected," Postecoglou said. "If you asked Mauricio that question directly, I think you'd get a pretty clear answer about what his intent was."
