Newcastle United are reportedly interested in signing Angel Gomes, whose contract with Ligue 1 side Lille expires at the end of this season.
Gomes, who joined Lille from Manchester United in 2020, has shown significant potential in Ligue 1, performing impressively for the French club.
The 24-year-old midfielder recorded two goals and six assists in the 2022-23 season and continued to build on this with eight assists in 2023-24.
Currently, Lille sits eighth in the Ligue 1 standings, trailing AS Monaco by four points, highlighting the competitive nature of the league.
