Mikel Merino suffered a shoulder injury during his first training session with Arsenal, expected to keep him sidelined for six to eight weeks.
The injury will prevent Merino from making his debut and he is set to miss around 10 upcoming fixtures, including matches against Manchester City and Liverpool.
