Morgan Gibbs-White expressed his admiration for new England manager Thomas Tuchel after being called up to the national team as a late replacement. Initially upset for missing the squad, Gibbs-White received a supportive call from Tuchel, which changed his outlook and excitement about training with the team. Despite feeling deserving of his initial inclusion due to his strong club performance with Nottingham Forest, Gibbs-White respected Tuchel's decision. He appreciated Tuchel's proactive communication and supportive demeanor towards players, enhancing team morale and player-manager relations in the squad.
He phoned me up and said 'Are you still upset with me, or do you want to join us, and fancy training with us tomorrow?', Gibbs-White said when speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live.
I was upset, a little bit disappointed, but at the same time you always have to look at the quality of players England have.
To be fair, [Tuchel] has been incredible. I think he has done [that] with most of the players.
I felt it was top from him, really good starting that relationship with us.
