Manchester United has decided to keep Erik ten Hag as their head coach for next season based on a performance review. Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the club's minority shareholder, has decided to extend Ten Hag's contract after negotiations started.
Ten Hag, the former Ajax manager, has been leading United since 2022, winning the FA Cup and the EFL Cup once each. The club believes he deserves an opportunity to excel within the new footballing structure.
Despite finishing in the top four of the Premier League in 2022-23, Manchester United missed out on a UEFA Champions League spot. They ended the season in eighth place with 60 points from 38 games.
