England coach Thomas Tuchel is looking forward to collaborating with captain Harry Kane as he begins his tenure with the national team. Having previously coached Kane at Bayern Munich, Tuchel knows the strikerâs potential and the expectations that come with it. With Kaneâs current form leading to success in the Champions League and Bundesliga, Tuchel believes Kane is critical for Englandâs World Cup qualifying campaign. England has directly promoted to League A in the Nations League and will begin their qualifying process with matches against Andorra, Serbia, Latvia, and Albania soon.
"Pleasure to work with him," said Tuchel. "We have a proven goalscorer at the highest level. Of course we have a lot of expectations because we know him already. It will be a lot of extra responsibility on his shoulders, but Harry is someone who proves that he can handle that."
Tuchel praised Kane's successful season with Bayern Munich, stating: "This is the way to go forward - we're happy to have him back, have him in good shape; he's in the [Champions League] quarter-finals, he's on his way to a title in the domestic league with Bayern, so it's a clear choice."
