NYC is gearing up to welcome over 11,000 new students in the 2024-2025 academic year, with modern facilities and a push for smaller class sizes.
Mayor Eric Adams emphasized that these new schools will enhance children's well-being, contributing to a safer and more livable city while accommodating growing student needs.
The Department of Transportation’s Open Streets program is creating safer environments for students, facilitating learning and simplifying parent drop-offs and pick-ups.
Moving forward, the newly adopted Capital Plan anticipates an additional 33,000 school seats, while also addressing the mandate for smaller class sizes within five years.
