Four years ago, when my daughter was an infant, the conversation had already started. 'What school are you sending her to?'
Yet after that weird introduction, I decided to step off the gas entirely and kick the primary school can down the road. Anyone who asked the 'which school' question got the same answer: a shrug and then 'the one closest to the house'.
