Sunnyvale students part of biggest juried high school art show on record at NUMU
"Two Sunnyvale high school students are among the 97 artists whose work has been chosen for ArtNow 2026, the annual juried show at New Museum Los Gatos (NUMU) for high school students in Santa Clara County. NUMU received more than 600 submissions from 53 high schools on the theme Before/Between/Beyond."
"Heather Ruiz, who has 25 years of public-sector human resources experience, currently serves in the same capacity for the City of Napa. She has also held senior human resources leadership roles with the City of Vallejo, Napa County, the City of San Jose and San Mateo County."
"Heather combines deep technical expertise with a genuine, people-centered approach, said Sunnyvale City Manager Tim Kirby in a release. She is a clear communicator and has a track record for building collaborative, high-performing teams."
ArtNow 2026 at New Museum Los Gatos received over 600 submissions from 53 high schools, with 97 artists from 36 schools selected for the exhibition. Two King's Academy juniors, Audrey Wang and Iris Zheng, are among the selected artists. The show represents the largest number of artists ever to exhibit and runs March 27-July 19. An awards ceremony is scheduled for May 2. Additionally, Heather Ruiz, with 25 years of public-sector human resources experience, will become Sunnyvale's new director of human resources effective March 30, bringing expertise from leadership roles in Napa, Vallejo, San Jose, and San Mateo County.
