Murrieta board defies state, will keep policy to tell parents about LGBTQ+ transitioning
Briefly

By a 3-2 margin, the board voted to keep its parent-notification policy, requiring notification within three days of a student's gender identity change, defying the state order.
"We have a right to defy a dictatorial governor and bureaucracy... We have legal standing and should stand up for our rights," said board member Nick Pardue.
Board president Paul Diffley broke the 2-2 tie in favor of the parent-notification policy, citing parental rights and mentioning a regretful gender reassignment surgery case.
