Mass. high school closed due to online threat, police say
Briefly

The Blackstone-Millville Regional School District decided to temporarily close its high school after a threat was reported by a student, which was made over social media. In a joint statement, Superintendent Jason DeFalco and Blackstone Police Chief Gregory Gilmore emphasized that the decision was made to ensure student safety. Although the threat appeared not to be credible, they opted for cautious measures, keeping the middle and elementary schools open with increased police presence during the investigation.
Our first and foremost concern is for the safety of our students. This is an extreme step, but it's taken with your children in mind. We will provide updates as the investigation continues.
The Millville Police Department received a report Thursday night from a student, who said a threat was made against both them and their high school over social media.
