A teacher thwarted an intruder's attempt to kidnap a student from a high school classroom by physically intervening to stop the abduction.
The intruder, later identified as Trey Duus, threatened staff by claiming he had a gun, leading to a lockdown and subsequent detention by police using 'less-lethal force options.'
Duus was found fleeing after causing damage to school property and was eventually booked into jail on charges, including attempted kidnapping, following the incident.
Sequoia High School district commended the students' cooperation, security team, summer school staff, and the partnership with Redwood City Police Department following the incident.
