Despite threats from the district, Harvey Milk elementary students and teachers protest school closure

A peaceful protest was a 'natural response' for students who are taught to use their voices, librarian Sarah Kerns said. 'This is what we do,' Kerns said. 'It's only the beginning.'

'Our school is about equality and peace,' one child said. 'The not peaceful thing is the school board and us.' Another child asked, 'What would Harvey Milk do? Would he keep the school or...?'
