Classroom sizes: Find out how your child's school fares as counties worst hit for overcrowding revealed

Despite a decrease in average class sizes, about one in ten students still face the challenge of being in overcrowded classrooms of 30 or more pupils.

In counties like Leitrim and Donegal, students are more likely to experience oversized classes. The average class size is lowest in Longford at 20.9 pupils.

The overall average class size in primary schools is now 22.5, showing a steady decline since 2016 when it was 24.9 pupils per class.

A positive trend is observed as almost one in five children are in classes of 20 or fewer, particularly in counties like Offaly and Longford.
