A record-high 146,733 students experienced homelessness in NYC public schools last year, marking a 23% increase, the largest rise in nine years.
"There are more students without a permanent home than there are seats at Yankee Stadium and Citi Field combined," the report highlights.
"Students benefit when they have stability...those who are housing unstable face some of the most disruptive experiences," said Sarah Jonas.
54% of homeless students were "doubled up" in shared housing, while over 60,000 lived in city shelters last year.
