Kenz Coffee Bar in Los Gatos became a vibrant gathering spot for those observing Ramadan, offering new coffee flavors and food truck iftars to break fasts. Owner Mohammad Subeh aims to enhance community bonds, noting increased isolation among individuals in recent years. With a backdrop of decorative elements symbolizing the month, the events provide a communal space for learning and supporting one another, reflecting the essence of Ramadan and the significance of social connections. The local Muslim population remains engaged through these initiatives, contributing to the overall community dynamics.
"It's really to open up a space for people to be here amongst their fellow human beings, to learn from one another, and also to not turn a blind eye to a lot of the struggles that people face not only locally, but abroad," said Mohammad Subeh.
"During the month of Ramadan, they put on a series of events, launching new coffee flavors and hosting a food truck iftar for people observing Ramadan," highlighting the inclusive atmosphere at Kenz.
