Magnitude 3.7 earthquake felt in Berkeley

A magnitude 3.7 earthquake shook Berkeley and the East Bay at 8:49 a.m. PST, with its epicenter just south of Concord at a depth of 8.8 miles.
The quake initially reported as magnitude 3.9 was downgraded by USGS. Earthquakes remind us to be prepared and aware of safety protocols.
Berkeley offers guidance on earthquake preparedness, including free disaster readiness and basic first aid training. CERT classes funded by FEMA will begin this month.
The Berkeley Fire Department administers emergency training classes aimed at enhancing community safety and response in case of natural disasters, repeating sessions later this year.
