PianoFight in Tenderloin features two theaters and a cabaret stage, hosting musical performances plus comedy, plays, and drag, alongside a full menu of cocktails and bar-style eats. It also serves as HQ for Tenderloin Walking Tours and Code Tenderloin. The Alley in Oakland, founded in 1933, has been home for 50 years to pianist Rodney Dibble, with current pianists Bryan Seet and Jef Labes playing from the Great American Songbook and modern sounds. Marin Joe’s in Corte Madera is the only remaining North Bay piano bar, family-owned since 1954, with Italian fare, a lengthy wine list, and live piano five nights weekly. Bix in Jackson Square is a modern supper club with roots as the former gay bar Gold Street.
