A Suburban Steakhouse Will Replace Gemini Grill in River North

Ballyhoo Hospitality is launching Sophia Steak in downtown Chicago on March 6, succeeding Gemini Grill at 748 N. State Street. This marks Sophia Steak's second location, following its debut in Wilmette five years ago. The restaurant, designed by Tom Kehoe, will feature an elegant atmosphere with bold floral designs and a statement chandelier. The venue will have a circular bar and a private dining space. Notably, this area will also host The Alston, another steakhouse, intensifying competition in the locale.

The steakhouse's design, led by Tom Kehoe, features bold florals and a statement chandelier, setting its polished vibe apart from Gemini Grill.
Glenn Keefer and Ryan O'Donnell, co-founders of Sophia Steak, have backgrounds in notable restaurants, with Keefer previously heading Keefer's for 13 years.
While Sophia Steak opens its new location, another steakhouse called The Alston will debut nearby, creating competition at the same address.
