The Oakland Ballers field at Raimondi Park has transformed the area into a notable dining hotspot with an array of restaurants, from pizzas to international cuisine. Craig Murli, a chef who once worked at a Michelin-starred restaurant, founded June's Pizza, aiming to make pizza accessible to all. With a focus on peak-season ingredients and innovative flavor combinations, June's Pizza exemplifies the neighborhood's culinary offerings. Along with this, the park area features various other eateries including hot dog vendors and taco trucks, solidifying its appeal as a go-to spot for food enthusiasts.
Working in fine dining, I became a little disillusioned with that world. I wanted to cook food for the masses, not just the 1 percent.
On any given evening, you'll find June's pizzaiolos maneuvering like a well-oiled boy band, cranking out whole-wheat sourdough pies with flavor combos like cauliflower-bottarga.
