Two people displaced after house fire in Union City

A house in Union City experienced two fires within hours, leaving two residents displaced. A cat was rescued and the cause remains under investigation.
The first fire fully engulfed the garage, which was extinguished by 11:16 p.m. Wednesday night. Firefighters returned in the morning to combat a second blaze.
After the initial fire, the house was boarded up, but despite precautions, a second fire broke out by morning, spreading smoke into the attic and living areas.
The second fire was contained in 20 minutes. The residents were displaced, and officials red-tagged the home, marking it unsafe for habitation.
