San Jose has transformed a former FedEx Office into a cute holiday pop-up adoption center to help find homes for 100 animals this season.
During a preview event, Mayor Matt Mahan emphasized the importance of adoption, saying, 'The city auditor gave us 39 recommendations, but I just have one for you: adopt.'
The downtown adoption center will be open every weekend until January 5, offering waived fees for dogs, cats, and rabbits, encouraging community participation.
Public Works Director Matt Loesch highlighted the center's capacity, saying it should have a good selection each day including four or five dogs and seven cats available for adoption.
