Peninsula cannabis farm executives accused of wage theft
Briefly

Aaron Esquer Corrales and Roberto Ahmed Perez-Flores, officers at Miles Ahead Ventures—a cannabis farm in Pescadero—are charged with multiple felony counts of wage theft, failing to pay over $200,000 in wages to 30 employees. The unpaid wages varied from $350 to $28,600, and the men allegedly neglected to provide workers' compensation insurance and housed employees in unsuitable conditions. District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe emphasized the need for accountability and restitution for these vulnerable victims.
The failure to pay wages to poor farmworkers while housing them in deplorable conditions is both offensive and illegal, Wagstaffe said.
Prosecutors said the men also failed to secure a workers' compensation insurance policy.
Esquer Corrales allegedly served as the CEO and Perez-Flores as the secretary, both charged with 16 felony counts of wage theft.
