A 36-year-old man was fatally shot Thursday afternoon in the Jingletown area, authorities said. His name has not yet been released pending notification of his family.
The man was found with at least one gunshot wound and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Police have not released a motive for the killing.
The killing is the 21st homicide investigated by Oakland police this year. Last year at this time police had investigated 27 homicides in the city.
Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $10,000 in reward money for information leading to the arrest of the killer.
