Jesus Cancino Garcia, 25, has been charged with gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated after a fatal wrong-way crash on I-680 that killed 23-year-old Anjali Nand.
The crash occurred around 1:15 a.m. on October 14, 2023, when Cancino Garcia's pickup truck struck a BMW head-on while driving in the wrong direction.
Authorities confirmed that Cancino Garcia was driving under the influence of alcohol, with his blood-alcohol level reportedly above the legal limit at the time of the collision.
Despite suffering severe burns, Cancino Garcia has been released from custody, showing signs of recovery, but is facing serious legal repercussions and must report to court soon.
