How soon would a release of the Menendez brothers happen?
Briefly

Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascon has announced his recommendation for the resentencing of Erik and Lyle Menendez to life with the possibility of parole.
Gascon cited new evidence of alleged sexual abuse by the brothers' father as a critical reason behind his recommendation for their resentencing to life with parole eligibility.
The parole board would determine when they would be eligible for a hearing, which must occur no less than six months after a judge approves their resentencing.
Even if the parole board approves their release, Governor Gavin Newsom has the authority to reject the decision, which could also be appealed.
