A high school in Sunnyvale was placed on lockdown Monday morning when police investigated reports of gunfire near the campus. The incident occurred shortly after 8 a.m. by Noranda Drive and Homestead Road. Police responded to claims of shots fired into an apartment building. Homestead High School, situated nearby, went into lockdown as a safety measure. Upon investigation, it was determined that the shots were fired from an airsoft pellet gun, resulting in one individual being cited for negligent discharge.
