Law enforcement officials had launched an investigation after witnesses reported gunfire between the occupants of two vehicles at approximately 5 p.m. on April 17 near Castro Valley Boulevard and Baker Road.
Detectives served a warrant Thursday at the suspect's residence, where officials said they recovered an illegal assault rifle, two loaded revolvers, and a small quantity of cocaine.
The man was taken into custody and booked at the Santa Rita Jail on multiple assault charges and possession of a controlled substance while armed.
