The city of Santa Cruz is urging residents to report any wharf-related debris found on the coast, which is a safety hazard following the December collapse.
Following assessments, it was confirmed that the wharf remains stable for reopening, and heavy machinery from the collapse has moved far enough out to sea to not pose a threat.
A plaque commemorating the Santa Cruz Municipal Wharf's 100th birthday was recovered by a community member after it fell into the sea during the wharf's collapse.
Residents are asked to report any debris sightings with details and photos to ensure the removal process is handled safely and effectively.
