Causa Justa/Just Cause, a key player in Bay Area tenants rights since 2002, is set to close by the end of December due to challenges exacerbated by the pandemic.
Board Chair Adam Gold stated, 'Causa Justa had a very good run, but ultimately it wasn't in the position to step up as much as was needed in this moment.'
Despite closing, Causa Justa will fulfill its remaining contracts until June and refer its tenants to other organizations, indicating a thoughtful transition.
Gold emphasized, 'We've actually been in a pretty strong financial position - that wasn't really a factor,' highlighting that the closure was not due to financial issues.
