The owner, Jen Waicukauski, expressed her heartbreak upon witnessing the destruction of her longtime business, stating it felt "virtually unrecognizable." The shop plans to restore its storefront, replace damaged equipment, and upgrade security, while aiming to keep its staff employed during this challenging time.
Looking Glass's owner, Jen Waicukauski, stated, "It's when you suddenly come to a place that you've known and it has been so severely damaged that it's virtually unrecognizable...your heart just falls out."
Waicukauski described her shop as a "sea of glass," referring to the extensive damage from the crash and burglary.
She noted that the store, which has been operating since 1971, suffered over $60,000 in damage beyond the theft value.
Despite the violence of the crime, Waicukauski expressed a commitment to restoring the store and keeping her staff employed.
