Alameda County launches committee to protect vulnerable residents from Trump policies
Briefly

In response to a series of executive orders from President Trump affecting immigrant communities, transgender individuals, and reproductive rights, the Alameda County Board of Supervisors has launched a committee named ACT for All. This initiative aims to protect the civil rights and safety of those at risk. The committee’s first hearing highlighted its commitment to supporting local communities and ensuring the continuity of essential social services, with a planned fund to address legal needs and service gaps caused by federal policy changes.
The ad hoc committee has a very clear purpose in terms of making sure that we are supporting and lifting up our communities, protecting the social services and health services the county provides.
ACT for All will create a fund to support countywide initiatives, such as legal defense against deportations, and back-fill any gaps in services that might be stripped away by the Trump administration.
