European Parliament adopted the New Pact on Migration and Asylum, expanding criminalisation and digital surveillance of migrants. Civil society warns of arbitrary detention for children, racial profiling, pushbacks, and return to unsafe countries.
The Pact will enable harmful surveillance technologies and practices against migrants, leaving room for further intrusive and violent surveillance and data processing practices in the future.
