Nintendo's products have seen a noticeable absence on Amazon, as many new titles and the Switch 2 remain unavailable. Speculation suggests that Nintendo's decision stems from cheaper prices being listed by third-party sellers, prompting a fallout with the retail giant. Both companies have denied any conflict, with Nintendo's spokesperson stating they do not disclose negotiation details, while Amazon labeled the reports inaccurate. Despite this, some pre-orders for new titles like Donkey Kong Bananza and Pokémon Legends: Z-A are available, raising questions about the future of their relationship.
Even the Switch 2 itself, which just had the fastest console launch sales ever is still not for sale on Jeff Bezos' marketplace almost a month later.
"There is no such fact. We do not disclose details of negotiations or contracts with retailers," a spokesperson for Nintendo told Bloomberg.
Amazon also played dumb, calling the reporting "inaccurate" and stating that it was "pleased to offer Nintendo products directly to our customers as part of our commitment to providing an exceptional shopping experience."
Two notable exceptions: you can currently pre-order both Donkey Kong Bananza and Pokémon Legends: Z-A.
