The list of official participants in this year's fifth edition of Upstate Art Weekend has reached 145, a dramatic rise from just two dozen arts centers and galleries four years ago, spanning 10 counties in New York State.
Events include one-off performances like Audra Wolowiec's choral performance on a boat crossing the Hudson, with many exhibits up for just the occasion and several new developments.
Unique offerings include a youth arts fund-raiser at the Foreland complex in Catskill, N.Y., The Zero Art Fair allowing visitors to take home one work per day for free under an innovative ownership vesting contract, and The Campus hosting an 80-plus-artist show.
The Campus in Claverack, outside Hudson, N.Y., offers the overwhelming art fair feeling with a massive 80-plus-artist show filling unrenovated classrooms in a 78,000-square-foot former school building.
