The New York judge announced that Donald Trump's sentencing for 34 felony counts will be postponed until Nov. 26, a decision welcomed by Trump's campaign.
Judge Juan Merchan stated, "This is not a decision this court makes lightly, but it is the decision which, in this court's view, best advances the interests of justice."
Trump's campaign did not celebrate the delay, labeling the legal proceedings as an "election interference witch hunt" and advocating for no sentencing at all.
The postponement will prevent a courtroom spectacle during the election campaign, but it leaves voters uncertain about Trump's potential prison time.
