The Ordinary Explanations Behind the Reported Drone Sightings
Briefly

John Kirby, the National Security Council spokesman, stated, "We assess that the sightings to date include a combination of lawful commercial drones, hobbyist drones and law enforcement drones, as well as manned fixed-wing aircraft, helicopters and even stars that were mistakenly reported as drones. We have not identified anything anomalous or any national security or public safety risk over the civilian airspace in New Jersey or other states in the Northeast."
Officials from the F.B.I., Defense Department and Department of Homeland Security shared their serious approach, saying they are deploying advanced radar systems to hunt for foreign reconnaissance drones while examining records for secret U.S. government programs. However, with over 5,000 sightings reported, only a small fraction were deemed worth investigating.
Despite the rise in reports of strange lights, government officials emphasize that they have not identified anything unusual, clarifying that many of the exciting videos circulating on social media have shown piloted planes, not unidentified flying objects.
