Design Art Technology is a BA course at ArtEZ University in Arnhem, focusing on merging technology with artistic practice. The program fosters critical thinking and creative skills, preparing students to address contemporary challenges in Experimental Design, Media Arts, and Creative Technology. With a curriculum that emphasizes collective learning and includes diverse subjects like Media Theory and Sound Design, students explore the dual nature of technology as a creative tool and a subject of critique. Graduates present installations that reflect their research, showcasing their innovative engagements with technology.
In Opsin, one can explore the wonders of the octopus skin. By immersing yourself among the cells and folds of the animal's organ, you can gain a glimpse into how octopuses perceive the world. This work not only shows how the octopus skin works but also highlights the contrasting ways in which we experience our environment compared to animals.
Our programme builds on the idea that technology is both a useful tool and a source of global concern. It prepares students to become critical thinkers and visual creators within a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
The curriculum covers relevant subjects, including Media Theory and Creative Technology, aimed at establishing a professional practice that is sustainable and future-proof.
Designing Art Technology encourages a collective learning experience where technology serves as both the material and the subject for thinking and creating in the fields of Experimental Design and Media Arts.
